D. Truskie, Ph.D. is the founder, president, and CEO of MSD Leadership Consultants, Inc. (MSD) which started in 1979. MSD
specializes in advising firms in the areas of board governance,
organizational effectiveness, executive development, and
performance improvement.

Truskie is a nationally recognized leader in leadership and
organizational development. He has been featured in newspapers
and national publications including the Wall Street Journal.
He recently served on the Blue Ribbon Commission on Succession
Planning sponsored by the National Association of Corporate
Directors. This group consists of a wide range of leaders
representing senior executive management, directors, shareholders,
academics, and professional advisors. The commission developed
recommendations to assist boards of directors in the implementation
of a process for effective succession planning of the chief
executive officer and senior management.

Truskie has over 25 years of experience in consulting with many
organizations in areas including board governance, executive
assessment and development, management/leadership training,
strategic planning, organizational culture alignment, team building,
and performance improvement. He has written extensively on
management and his writings have appeared in books, professional
journals, and business publications, including Business Week.

Truskie's current book describes how leaders shape organizational
culture to achieve successful performance and growth. The book
cites leading companies that are using this approach and getting
positive results. The book, entitled Leadership in High-Performance
Organizational Cultures, is published by Quorum Books, an
imprint of Greenwood Publishing Group, Inc.

Truskie designs and conducts leadership seminars for companies and
consults with senior executive management in the selection and
development of leaders at all levels of the organization. His
research and professional client list includes corporations such as
AT&T, IBM, Gillette, H. J. Heinz, SmithKline Beecham, Merck & Company,
Thrift Drug, UBS Financial Group, U. S. Steel, Wells Fargo, and
Xerox.

conducted original studies in management and executive behavior.
His work, The President/CEO Study describes attributes of top
executives from over 200 major U.S. corporations and has been
widely used and referenced as a guide to CEO selection. Another
major study he conducted, CEO Performance Evaluation is currently
used by many boards of directors as a reference to designing and
implementing a CEO performance evaluation process.

Truskie received his Master's Degree and Ph.D. from the University
of Pittsburgh. He also completed the Advanced Management Program
at Rutgers University. He is a member of several professional
groups including the Academy of Management, the American
Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and
Organizational Psychology, and National Association for Corporate
Directors. He is listed in various "who's who" directories
including the International Directory of Business and Management
Scholars and Researchers published by the Harvard Business School
Press.
